Rakenzarn Tales is a non-profit fan-game about fanfiction and crossovers! Characters from a huge plethora of video games, movies, anime, and more, all populate a shared world... the World of Rakenzarn.

++Two Tales++

• Choose between two protagonists, each equipped to take on different journeys.
  • Kyros: Takes of an original character from the "real" world, his scenario involves the exploration and adventure.
  • Kyuu: Tales of an existing character; the protagonist of Detective School Q, his scenario involves uncovering the mysteries behind Rakenzarn, and his presence in it.
• Features main story and a multitude of sidequests.
• A large, vibrant world to explore!
  
• Chapter-centered story with an emphasis on player choice!
  
• It follows chapter-based format. Every chapter has 3 sub-chapters.

++Crossover Gallore++

• An ever-expanding cast of characters (90+) from an assortment of franchises from across multiple media platforms!
• Media including other fan/online series!
• A system of equippable "assist" party members!

++Turn-based Battle++

• 4-person party battle system, with the ability to swap out allies and equipment mid-battle!
• RPG Maker VX Ace's combat system augmented with scripts courtesy of Yanfly!
• All party members and assists get their own unique abilities!

• Equippable Assist characters allow for further character customization!
• Some pairings and party compositions have unique bonuses!
• Wield the power of the mighty RK-0s, magical stones that have abilities from A to Z!

++Choices & Outcomes++

• The game is designed to emphasize player choice, with a multitude of reactions implemented centered around hundreds of variables and states!
  
• An Affinity system exists for each party member, reflecting your decisions as a leader. Bonding with party members via this system unlocks new unique skills and equipment!
  • However, the size of the cast means you'll be hard-pressed to please everybody! There will always be someone unhappy with your decisions as leader.

As things are, we've only completed the prologue and first chapter of Kyros' Tale, with Kyuu's being unfinished. We plan on releasing chapters episodically as the game is further developed, but for now we're focused on Kyros' story.
